Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has appeared on TENAA, revealing a fair amount of details about the 2023 flagship. This comes after the Samsung Galaxy S23 models were spotted at the FCC certification a couple of weeks ago. The Samsung Galaxy S23 models will arrive as successors to the Galaxy S22 models from earlier this year. According to the TENAA listing, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra measures 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 233 grams, which are the same dimensions as the current Galaxy S22 Ultra. It would appear that Samsung might have not made any major design changes.
Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has the same 6.8-inch display but the flagship will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SM8550-AC chipset. Rumours indicate that the South Korean giant might use Qualcomm silicon for the Galaxy S23 series globally.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra appears on TENAA
According to TENAA, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra packs a 4,885mAh battery but it should be marketed as a 5,000mAh unit. The 6.8-inch display will have a resolution of 1,440 X 3,088 pixels resolution and a 19.3:9 aspect ratio.
The phone’s CPU frequency lists three clusters: 3.36GHz, 2.8GHz and 2.0GHz. This suggests the Galaxy S23 Ultra will indeed come with the higher clock speeds of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SM8550-AC. The chipset will be paired with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage.
Furthermore, the TENAA listing doesn’t reveal the camera details but rumours hint that the Galaxy S23 Ultra might include a new 200MP primary camera with 1/1.3″, 0.6µm, a 12MP secondary lens, and 3x and 10x telephoto cameras with similar hardware. The main camera will reportedly come with 8K video recording at 30fps. There’s no mention of the much-rumoured Satellite Communication support but then again the iPhone 14 China models don’t have the feature as well.
Samsung is rumoured to be using the Iridium satellite network and should be available for general use, unlike the Apple system. Users will be able to send short messages and even images to friends.
