Unless they are digitized and entered in the electronic register following official verification, information on births, deaths, and marriages that are registered and documented in writing will not be accessible on this website.

According to G.O.(Ms) No.202/2012/LSGD, issued July 25, 2012, online birth and death certificates are accepted as legal documents for all official purposes.

According to G.O.(P) 6/2013/Law Dated 09/10/2013, the marriage certificate with barcode and photograph acquired from the internet should be a recognized document.

Kerala joined several other states in implementing the Registration of Births and Deaths Acts of 1969 (Central Act 18 of 1969) on April 1st, 1970, via a Government of India Gazette Notification dated March 21. The Kerala Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 1970 were adopted by the Government of India in accordance with Section 30(1) of the aforementioned Act and were thereafter published in G.O. (P) 7/70/LAD dated June 29, 1970 and SRO No. 262/70 Gazette dated July 1, 1970.

Births and deaths were formerly registered in Kerala by several departments and their personnel in accordance with laws including the Travancore-Cochin Registration of Births and Deaths Act, the Municipal Act, and the Madras Act of 1899.
